There is no comparison when it comes to explosive EastEnders New Year episodes. Stabbings, drownings, heists and the shortest marriage ever, the BBC soap has seen it all during the coundown.
This year, bosses have remained fairly tight lipped about this year's eve and day episodes, however we do know that there will be flashback ep detailing what really happened on that fateful Christmas Day episode.
On New Year's Eve, Linda is left in a dangerous situation as her drinking spirals out of control, clearly haunted by recent events.
The next day, secrets and lies simmer away for more than one Walford family.
Here are all of the major, heart-stopping New Year episodes over the years...
Tiffany Mitchell run over by Frank Butcher - 1998
Tiffany Mitchell's harrowing death in 1998 was watched by over 12million viewers and seemed to set a precedent for New Years to come on EastEnders.
Leading up to her last scenes on the BBC soap, Tiffany (Martine McCutcheon) was hospitalised after falling down the stairs following a fight with estranged husband Grant.
She then proceeded to frame her husband, saying that he pushed her down the stairs.

However Grant was released on bail on New Year's Eve and snuck into the Queen Vic to retrieve Courtney, the daughter they shared, after learning that Tiffany was planning to leave with her.
Tiffany ran after Grant but, while crossing the road, was knocked down by a car driven by Frank Butcher.
Shortest soap marriage ever - Mel and Ian - 1999
Mel and Ian were a match made in soap hell and while they both knew it, Ian wouldn't give up.
So what better to do than lie about his daughter Lucy's cancer diagnosis to shove his reluctant bride up the aisle?
Unsurprisingly, this did not go down well with Mel when she discovered the truth... just hours after they wed.

As a result, Mel cut all ties with him and a miserable Ian was left all alone. Well, until his third marriage to Laura.
Mel's iconic line was delivered as a weeping Ian begged for her forgiveness, telling her that he loved her.
With the bells chiming in the background, Mel responded cuttingly: "Well guess what Ian, I don't love you. And I never have done."
Dennis Richman stabbed to death on Johnny Allen's orders - 2005
Before Sheanu, there was Dennis and Sharon.
Her love affair with stepbrother Dennis Rickman ended in a tragic stabbing on New Year's Eve - just as they were finally able to be together.

On that fateful day, Sharon was nervous and told Phil that she felt something was wrong when Dennis didn't turn up.
The pair spotted one another across the Square, but in that split second, someone appeared to bump into Dennis... only to discover that they had actually stabbed him.
As he fell to the ground, Sharon clutched him as he weakly told her that they "did it", pressing a hand to her pregnant stomach.
Pat Butcher dies - 2012
Iconic character Pat Butcher died on New Year's Day back in 2012, leaving fans completely and utterly devastated.
The heartbreaking scenes featuring soap legends Pam St Clement and Charlie Brooks as Pat and Janine confided in one another in the incredibly touching moment.

Despite all their past fallings out, it was clear that both deeply cared about one another and Janine was genuinely devastated that Pat was dying.
A final shot showed Janine lying across her on the bed, Pat stroking her hair.
Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell drown - 2016
Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell were huge fan favourites on EastEnders, so it was utterly gutwrenching for viewers having the two sisters being killed off.
Following Ronnie's wedding to Jack, the sisters decided to sneak into a swimming pool.
Roxy had been swigging from a champagne bottle and jumped in the pool, only to stay under water.
A horrified Ronnie jumped in to save her sister, only to become unable to reach the surface as she was dragged down by the weight of her wedding dress.
