Moscow hit by 400 drones as Ukraine launches major wave of attacks on Russia

  • Ukraine launched a drone attack on Moscow and its surrounding region overnight, with Russian officials reporting 400 drones involved.
  • The strikes reportedly wounded at least two people and caused several buildings to catch fire in areas including Podolsk, Domodedovo, and Odintsovo district.
  • The attack occurred between 8:30pm and 5am, with Russian air defence and electronic warfare systems repelling the assault.
  • This drone attack follows earlier Ukrainian strikes on three oil depots and a fuel facility in Russia's southern Stavropol region.
  • Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed these earlier attacks, adding that three Russian 'shadow fleet' tankers were also hit in the Black Sea.
