Morrisons opens new Steak and Seafood Bars selling meat at massively reduced prices

Morrisons has announced it has opened new summer Steak and Seafood Bars in its stores.

The new bars are open from today and will sell restaurant-quality steaks, fish and shellfish for half price.

The Steak and Seafood Bars are aimed at helping British farmers and fishermen find a home for their produce, Morrisons says.

Morrisons customers will be able to stock up on fillets, sirloins, rump and ribeye steaks at massively reduced prices.

The supermarket is selling quality steaks, fish and shellfish for half price (PA)

An 8oz fillet, which normally costs £7.04, for example, now costs just £3.52.

Other deals include a range of 20 restaurant-quality fish and shellfish priced at half price, such as Dover sole, scallops, squid, turbot, and monkfish tails.

A king scallop normally costing 66p will be priced at just 33p.

Chief Executive of Morrisons, David Potts, said: "We are playing our full part in feeding the nation and providing a home for some of the top-quality meat and seafood that our country produces.

"The opening of these bars will provide restaurant food at knock-out prices."
