More than 470,000 Operations Performed by Saudi Courts, Notarial Offices in June

The Saudi Ministry of Justice. (SPA)

Saudi courts and notaries have performed 470,000 operations in 19 workdays of June, including judicial, enforcement, and notarial services, the Ministry of Justice announced.

The operations included issuing over 46,000 first-instance rulings, receiving over 64,000 judicial and enforcement applications, and carrying out over 279,000 notarizations, it said.

As for enforcement statistics, applications during June rose 42 percent compared to the same period last year. The total amount of the financial claims was over SAR 29 billion ($7.7 billion), an increase of 149 percent year on year, said the Ministry.

Thanks to digital transformation efforts undertaken by the Ministry of Justice, enforcement debtors can meet their financial obligations by settling “digital” invoices through various banking outlets. As soon as the payment is verified, all sanctions against the debtor are lifted.

The Saudi justice system has recently witnessed major strides in digitization, which simplified procedures and shortened the litigation timeframe. In addition, courthouses have been internally reorganized to streamline judicial work.
