More than 2,000 coronavirus cases recorded in county in the last week

More than 2,000 coronavirus cases have been recorded across the county in the last week, according to new data.

Nottinghamshire County Council has released its latest surveillance report which shows there were 2,241 new cases between October 12 and October 18.

Pillar 1 data comes solely from the tests carried out in Public Health England (PHE) lab and NHS hospital settings. Pillar 2 tests come from out in the community.

Of those cases, only 225 were discovered in pillar one while 2,016 took place in pillar two.

In total, there have been 9,693 cases from February 21 to October 18.

The median age for diagnosis has changed to 35-years-old in the county.

It is no longer young people between 20-29 who are now the most infected by the virus.

There are now cases in the 30 to 39 age group, 40 to 49 age group, 50 to 59 age group and the 60 to 69 age group.

From February 21 to October 18:

Ashfield - 1,410 cases

Bassetlaw - 1,222 cases

Broxtowe - 1,616 cases

Gedling - 1,532 cases

Mansfield - 958 cases

Newark and Sherwood - 1,295 cases

Rushcliffe - 1,660 cases

Areas with the most infections are Beeston North, West Bridgford, Lowdham, Bleasby & Gunthorpe, Beeston Town, Woodthorpe & Arnold Vale and Kimberley South, Trowell & Cotgrave and Hucknall Town.
