More than 100 Bathstores are to close after it was announced the huge firm had been bought by Homebase.
The sad news comes after the bathroom giant went into administration back in June.
It was confirmed on Monday the DIY chain will take on 44 of the branches, but a total of 124 face closure, The Mirror reports.
Those closing have not yet been named, although the chain currently has 43 branches in the South East of England, and 15 in the North West, and many more across the country.
The changes are expected to happen over the coming 18 months, and there are fears for hundreds of jobs at the firm.
Damian McGloughlin, CEO of Homebase, said: "We are absolutely delighted to welcome Bathstore into the Homebase family.
"With a reputation for quality service and excellent products, Bathstore complements Homebase's reinvigorated range."
Homebase is also planning to use the Homebase brand and open a "significant" number of Bathstore concessions in its own stores, in a bid to stengthen itself against competition from rivals including B&Q.
