Montana Brown opens up about secret miscarriage after falling pregnant on pill

Montana Brown has bravely opened up about a miscarriage she secretly suffered last year.

The former Love Island star, 25, says she was on the contraceptive pill when she fell pregnant.

Montana, who split from Elliott Reeder in January after two years together, spoke about what happened in a YouTube video, saying she was "shocked and confused" when she found out she was expecting a baby.

Speaking on the video with her friend Carms London, Montana said: "I've been on the pill since I was about 15. I'm sometimes just a bit bad with taking it.

"To be fair, I'm now very particular with my pill because I got pregnant on the pill, last year.

"It was so bad. I was shocked because I was like 'no, surely not!' and I remember I found out...

"It really was awful. To be fair it wasn't that awful, because I naturally miscarried, but I was actually on the pill when it happened and I was so confused."

Montana, who said she took her pill regularly as instructed, discovered she was pregnant after feeling a strange sensation in her breasts.

She was with a friend, who has two children, at the time, who told Montana that she should take a pregnancy test.

She went on: "Then I got a clear blue test and it was like 'four to five weeks pregnant' and I was like 'Brilliant!'."

Montana went on to warn her fans that the pill is not 100% effective at preventing pregnancy, and that everyone should take extra precautions when having sex.

Earlier this year, Montana spoke out following the breakdown of her relationship with model Elliott.

She said in another YouTube video: "I am officially single, but actually loving it. Also the show must go on, I'm feeling pretty fresh

"I mean I wasn't feeling fresh when it first happened, don't get me wrong, I was pretty down in the dumps.

She advised her fans to be careful with contraceptives (montanarosebrown/Youtube)

"But I feel like everything happens for a reason, I've been really able to focus on myself and my personal growth, personal goals.

"I've met some amazing people along the way, I think everything happens for a reason."
