A Moniaive hotel boss has logged on to a winning idea to provide wi-fi and food for people to work at his venue and avoid the stress of a
home office.
Tim O’Sullivan launched the scheme at his Craigdarroch Arms Hotel and revealed many of his clients have turned out to be people with families who need some quiet time to work on their business.
He said: “We have a lovely big room in the hotel which previously had a pool table, darts and an eating area.
“Now we have turned it into a place for people to use as their ‘office’ and to enjoy a change of scenery and space to get on with their work.
“We charge a fiver a day and for that there is free-wifi, as much tea and coffee as you can drink, plus a plate of sandwiches to keep you going.
“The area can safely accommodate 12 people with social distancing at the tables and it has really taken off.”
He added: “We actually had a few residents come here previously to use their laptops and maybe have a spot of lunch because we have a good connection to the internet and it helped people who needing a strong signal to download stuff for work.
“But now with the pandemic continuing and more measures and restrictions taking place, we hit on the
idea to set up a kind of hot desk-type of office for people to come and enjoy peace and quiet away from the house.
“And with the weather about to turn bad now, it is somewhere for people to work indoors and have something to eat too.”
