Money-saving mum reveals the free B&M scanner hack that will make your next bargain shop quicker and easier

Britain is, without a doubt, a nation of bargain hunters.

You just can't beat the feeling of finding an item you've been after for a fraction of the price.

For budget shoppers in Manchester, one of the most popular bargain spots around is B&M.

Classed as an essential shop and so open during lockdown, B&M is rammed with inexpensive items from food supplies and toiletries to children's toys, cleaning products and furniture.

Pre-pandemic, taking your time to have a good browse in-store was a guilty pleasure for many.

But since the start of the coronavirus crisis, the way we shop has changed.

Instead of spending time in store having a leisurely look around, shoppers are equipped with a face mask, list and hand sanitiser and are fully prepared for an in-and-out job.

But it can be harder to organise yourself in bargain shops.

Layouts can often change, stock can differ from week to week and sometimes you may struggle to find the price.

Luckily, one savvy shopper has shared a B&M shopping trick that completely solves this issue.

Narrating over her video, TikTok user @hollyvlogsofficial said: "If you regularly shop at B&M make sure you download the B&M app.

"This is really handy because it has a built in barcode scanner so if you can't find a price for an item simply scan it and it will come up on screen.

"This is also a great app to find mispriced products."

In the video, we see Holly use her phone with the downloaded app to scan the bar code of a nearby flask.

Within seconds, the price of the item and other product information flashes up on her phone screen.

The popular short clip was watched more than 62,000 times and gained plenty of attention in the comments section.

User @keishagooden commented: "Yes, it's good as they seem to not have a lot of prices out. Brilliant idea!"

And @clairepettigrew2 agreed, writing: "I love the app. I have two B&Ms near me and it's like a jumble sale."

But the hack came too late for user @pilgramharrysson, who wrote: "We needed this last week," along with a crying face emoji.

The app has other features as well as the barcode scanner.

App users will be able to set shopping preferences for favourite products, use the list maker tool, receive the latest offers, discounts and more.
