Video footage has captured the moment a fight broke out among Notting Hill Carnival revellers on the Tube, as police say this year’s event saw “far fewer incidents of serious violence” compared to recent years.
The altercation was filmed at Baker Street station and features a man in a brightly coloured tracksuit clashing with a group of fellow revellers.
In the clip, the man is seen throwing what appears to be a drink up a flight of stairs toward another individual.
This prompts a woman wearing an animal-print dress to retaliate by striking him with her bag.
Moments later, the man is pursued into a Tube carriage, where he is seen being repeatedly struck by another man wearing a white vest top.

It is unclear if any arrests have been made.
Two people were stabbed and 423 arrested at this year’s Notting Hill Carnival, Met Police said on Monday evening, noting there were “far fewer incidents of serious violence”, compared to recent years.
Around a million revellers flocked to Notting Hill over the bank holiday weekend, many dressed in vibrant costumes and donning feathered headdresses, sequins, and Caribbean flags, for the return of Europe’s biggest street party.
Despite a heavy police presence and a number of arrests, including two non-life threatening stabbings, police said the event passed as a “safer event for all”.
As of 7.45pm on Monday, the number of arrests on day two was 223, with 177 at Carnival itself and 46 on the approaches to the event.
The number of arrests on Sunday was 200, with 149 at Carnival itself and 51 on the approaches to the event.
Fifty-two of the total arrests were as a result of identifications using Live Facial Recognition (LFR), police said.
The technology uses drones that can identify individuals from up to 80m (260ft) away, which then feed images to officers.
Police said there have been two stabbings – one in Powis Terrace and one in Oxford Gardens – neither of which resulted in life-threatening injuries.
An updated figure, providing details of all arrests, was set to be published on Tuesday.
