Moment heroes wrestle knifeman after London Bridge 'terror attack'

This is the moment heroic members of the public tackled a suspected knifeman to the floor before he was shot by police.

Footage shows a group of people appearing to be holding the man, who is lying on his back, to the floor on London Bridge.

Within seconds a number of Met Police officers wielding automatic

Moments after the last bystander is pulled back, the man tries to get up and he is shot, causing him to fall back to the ground.

Police said they are currently treating the incident as 'terror related'.

A statement from Met Police says: "At this stage, the circumstances relating to the incident at London Bridge remain unclear.

"However, as a precaution, we are currently responding to this incident as though it is terror-related. One man has been shot by police. We will provide further information when possible."

There are reports that several people have been stabbed and some are in a serious condition.

The force confirmed they were called to the scene at 1.58pm.
