Molly Rainford and Hamza Yassin confirmed for Strictly tour date in Newcastle

Strictly fans looking forward to seeing the show's stars in action for themselves on their upcoming tour will be delighted to hear that two more big names have been announced for the line-up.

With just weeks to go before the launch of the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour, which will stop off in Newcastle in February, it has been confrmed that Molly Rainford and Hamza Yassin will be heading north too. As competition heats up among the dance rivals on screen - with Molly currently focused upon proving her skills in the latter stages of the BBC hit show - there is already much excitement for the tour to follow.

It gets under way on January 20 and has a double-date - with three shows - at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle from February 1-2. Already confirmed for it are Will Mellor, Ellie Simmonds and Tyler West, alongside the professional dancers.

And the newly-announced additions to the show can't wait to join them. Singer, actor and presenter Molly said: “I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining the Strictly live tour - performing for the huge arena crowds across the UK is going to be an incredible experience.

"I’m really looking forward to continuing my amazing Strictly journey and getting out on the road to meet all the fans."

Wildlife cameraman and Countryfile presenter Hamza added: “Strictly has changed my life in ways I never imagined so to be doing the tour on top of it all is a dream come true! I’ve heard the tour audiences are unparalleled, so I’ll be relishing the atmosphere every night and I’m so excited to share that experience with my fellow dancers – not to mention the judges.”

These will be Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood - who is again also acting as director - and, joining the tour for the first time, Anton Du Beke. Janette Manrara will be host during the 32-date countrywide tour.

Fans can expect the same top choreography, sparkly costumes and live band as in the BBC1 show whose current series final will be on December 17. During the tour shows the audience itself will be able to decide which couple should win the famous Glitterball Trophy after watching the dancers in action.

The judges will, as always, share their wisdom, advice and own scores at each performance but it ultimately will be the spectators' votes by text that determine who wins. The touring performances also will include a British Sign Language interpreter.

The Newcastle shows will be at 7.30pm on February 1 and at both 2.30pm and 7.30pm on February 2. For tickets see here or visit the arena website here.
