Mohamed Salah makes Jordan Pickford admission and big Darwin Nunez prediction at Liverpool

Mohamed Salah has revealed what was said in the Liverpool dressing room in the days leading up to the win over Everton.

The Reds claimed a 2-0 victory in the Merseyside derby on Monday night. Goals from Salah and Cody Gakpo helped secure a precious three points in the Premier League clash.

Jurgen Klopp’s side ended a run of four top flight matches without a win with the victory over Everton. Salah opened the scoring at Anfield, and has revealed that Jordan Henderson and James Milner spoke to the squad in the build up to the fixtures.

Salah told Sky Sports: “Captains, Hendo and Milly, were speaking last week and they spoke again yesterday.

“Like ‘guys, we have to play our football, we need to enjoy [it], because we’ve been together for five or six years, we have new players so there is no point to play as we started.’

“I think we managed to play good, as you say it looks like the old Liverpool, that’s also my opinion since last week.”

Salah’s goal against Everton was his first in the Premier League since Boxing Day. The Egyptian latched onto a pass from Darwin Nunez in a counter-attack, and Salah believes his team-mate will also be a major goal threat for the Reds.

“I saw him [Pickford] in the last second to fair, I didn’t know he was running there, but I saw him at the last second so I just need to pass the ball basically, not to hit it so hard.

“I train with Darwin so I know his stride, I know how he likes to play, when we counter attack we just go.

“We did it a few times against Napoli, a few times against City, so I know how he plays, and I’m sure this guy is going to score a lot of goals.

“Once he just starts scoring them, he will score a lot of goals.”
