Mohamed Salah delivers Champions League final injury update after Chelsea FA Cup final heartbreak

Mohamed Salah has revealed he will be fit to play for Liverpool in the Champions League final after limping off injured against Chelsea in the FA Cup final.

Salah went down injured just after the half-hour mark of his side’s penalty shootout win over Thomas Tuchel’s side at Wembley. And after receiving treatment on the pitch by Reds physio Chris Morgan, the forward was replaced by Diogo Jota.

Despite being without the forward, Liverpool went on to win the FA Cup after winning a dramatic penalty shootout 6-5. The spot-kicks eventually went to sudden death after both Cesar Azpilicueta and Sadio Mane missed in the opening 10 penalties.

But after Mason Mount saw his effort saved by Alisson Becker, Konstantinos Tsimikas was handed the opportunity to win the cup for the Reds - and he coolly converted from 12-yards-out.

And when asked after the game if he would be fit for the Champions League final, Salah replied: “Of course, of course! It’s all good!”

Liverpool take on Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Paris at the end of this month. Jurgen Klopp's side are still on the hunt for a historic quadruple after their Wembley triumph saw them claim their second piece of silverware this season.
