Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition: How to pre-order, price, skins, and more benefits

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is set to release on October 23, 2026, but you can now pre-order the game, including the premium Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition. This bundles the full game with exclusive operator packs, weapon blueprints, BlackCell access, DMZ bonuses, and early beta access.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition.

Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition price

The MW4 Vault Edition costs $99.99 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, including Steam and Battle.net. The Standard Edition is priced at $69.99, making the Vault Edition a $30 upgrade over the base game.

One thing that softens the blow is the new Vault Edition Loyalty Discount, which slashes the price by 10 percent or down to roughly $89.99. The discount is available to those who digitally or physically owned the Call of Duty titles listed below, or have played one of them via Game Pass and have an active Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or PC subscription:

  • Modern Warfare 2019
  • Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered (2020)
  • Black Ops Cold War
  • Vanguard
  • Modern Warfare 2 (2022)
  • Modern Warfare 3 (2023)
  • Black Ops 6
  • Black Ops 7

There’s also a Vault Edition Upgrade available later for those who initially buy the digital Standard Edition, which costs $30 and unlocks the Vault Edition content on the same platform. Take note that physical edition pre-orders cannot be upgraded to the Vault Edition, as the premium version is only available digitally. Additionally, the Vault Edition Loyalty Discount only applies when purchasing the Vault Edition outright and cannot be used when upgrading from the Standard Edition later.

This is the instant-unlock pre-order skin available in Modern Warfare 4 at launch and immediately usable in both Black Ops 7 and Warzone. It’s a stealth-focused operator designed around the game’s more grounded military aesthetic.

This bundle leans into the realistic military tone Infinity Ward is pushing this year. It includes operators inspired by international special forces units from the UK, Germany, France, and South Korea, complete with localized voice pack.

  • COM SFT (France)
  • KSK Amphibious (Germany)
  • South Korean Special Forces (South Korea)
  • SAS (United Kingdom)

MW4 Vault Edition owners will also receive these weapons and blueprints:

  • Kastov 762 assault rifle and “Voltspine” blueprint
  • ISO Nightshade SMG and “La Sombra Venenosa” blueprint
  • Rezi 12 shotgun and “Shattered Code” blueprint
  • Oris 8.6 marksman rifle and “Volt-Edge” blueprint
  • Combat Knife and “Sombra Besada” blueprint

BlackCell and DMZ bonuses

The inclusion of one season of BlackCell Battle Pass is where the real value comes from. If you’re a player who buys premium battle passes anyway, getting BlackCell bundled saves money later. Vault Edition buyers also receive additional DMZ launch perks through the Deployment Bonus, although Activision hasn’t revealed every detail yet.

How to pre-order Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition

Pre-orders are live now through the official Call of Duty store, PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Steam, and Battle.net. Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders will be available later.

To pre-order the Vault Edition:

  1. Visit the official Modern Warfare 4 store page .
  2. Choose the Vault Edition, then select your platform.
  3. Click Pre-order. You’ll be redirected to your platform’s storefront.
  4. Complete your purchase through the store of your platform.

Activision has confirmed that players who don’t pre-order should still get access to the open portion of the beta later on.

Is the MW4 Vault Edition worth it?

If you’re a dedicated CoD player who expects to spend hundreds of hours in Modern Warfare 4, the Vault Edition is easy to recommend, especially if you would have purchased BlackCell anyway or qualify for the Loyalty Discount. For me, the BlackCell bonus is what makes the Vault Edition worth considering, since BlackCell typically costs $29.99 on its own.

However, if you’re only interested in the Campaign or don’t care about cosmetics, the Standard Edition remains the better value. You can always upgrade later if you decide Modern Warfare 4 becomes your main game for the year.
