JODHPUR: The city police on Tuesday arrested a man and a woman for allegedly forcing a model to honeytrap a minister. The harassed model attempted suicide by jumping from a hotel in Jodhpur on Sunday evening.
"We have arrested one Akshat and Dipali from Udaipur for blackmailing the girl. They were forcing her to honeytrap a minister from Bhilwara," said the DCP (East) Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav.
Police detained both the accused from Udaipur and brought them to Jodhpur on Tuesday based on the model's statement and a complaint by her brother.
The girl has been associating with Akshat and Dipali for modelling assignments in Udaipur for some time.
"After returning from Udaipur, instead of going to her home despite her father's insistence, she went to a hotel near PWD Circle and jumped from the top floor," said Yadav.
Woman has multiple fractures
Fortunately, she fell on a car below. She was admitted to a hospital with multiple fractures and in an unconscious state by her father, who rushed to the hotel. She regained consciousness on Tuesday and gave statements to the police.
"Based on her statements, we arrested Akshat and Dipali. They have a record of honeytrapping rich and important persons in the past," said the officer.
Yadav said the duo recorded a video of the model bathing and tried to force her to honeytrap the minister. The two wanted the minister to clear some files, which he had refused to do during their meeting with him at the Bhilwara circuit house.
The accused duo had taken her to Bhilwara with them on Saturday and forced her to sleep with the minister using explicit videos of her, said police. She, however, managed to run away from Bhilwara and came to Jodhpur via Udaipur on Sunday evening.
She informed her father and brother about the entire episode while travelling to Jodhpur and told them that she was going to commit suicide, said police.
