Weekend Classic returns today in MLB The Show 25. For those who play Ranked, it’s the best way to earn rewards and compete with some of the best players in a set of games.
SDS has promised Weekend Classic should work better this month. You should only match with players from within your division (rather than getting matched with World Series and above players when you’re a 400 SR player). It should only match you with someone one division below you if the queue times are very long.
The rewards include 2nd Half Heroes Ryne Sandberg and All-Star Giancarlo Stanton in the new Weekend Classic pack (if you’re able to get it).
You should know by now what you’re getting with Stanton. He’s very tall, so you need to manage the strike zone and he’ll have bad vision, but the power is hard to top.
2nd Half Heroes Ryne Sandberg seems like the more obvious pick since he might be the best 2B in the game now. Sandberg’s swing is good, and his hitting stats are very good across the board. The speed isn’t ideal for a middle-infield spot, but otherwise there’s not much that stops Sandberg from being a mainstay in any lineup.
