The regular season for Major League Baseball is in the books, which means the last Attributes Update in MLB The Show 25 is on its way. According to the MLB The Show official Twitter, the final roster update will drop this Friday. This means it’s the final chance for players to jump from the Gold to the Diamond tier, a big deal in Diamond Dynasty, where elite status offers higher value, better stats, and bragging rights.
This final update is barely 48 hours away, so there’s naturally a lot of speculation around who’s getting the Diamond treatment. As fans replying to the Twitter post immediately noted, there are a lot of players who should have already received Diamond. Here are our predictions for players that might leap.
Nick Kurtz
Right before the 6th roster update, we predicted that Nick Kurtz would be getting the Diamond upgrade. The fact that it hasn’t happened yet has us anticipating it even more. Kurtz has had a monstrous rookie season, and for many is the frontrunner for Rookie Of The Year honor. He had a batting average of .290, an on-base percentage of .383, and an OPS of 1.002 with 36 home runs and 86 RBIs.
Kurtz is already one of the most feared young hitters in baseball, and with those kinds of numbers, his current Gold rating just undersells how dominant he’s been. It feels inevitable that SDS will finally reward him with Diamond status in the final update. The fact that he’s still at 82 is baffling.
Freddy Peralta
This starting pitcher has managed to put together one of the best seasons of his career for the Milwaukee Brewers. He has gone 17-6 with a 2.68 ERA, 201 strikeouts, and a 1.07 WHIP over 174.2 innings. That kind of performance from a starter absolutely deserved Diamond consideration. His current gold card doesn’t reflect his recent dominance and reliability. If SDS wants to reward consistency and ceiling, Peralta is a strong bet to earn that upgrade in this final roster upgrade. The 81-rated gold card for him absolutely deserves an upgrade.
Trevor Rodgers
Trevor Rogers has been one of the best comeback stories of the 2025 season. After years of inconsistency, he put together a dominant campaign for Miami, finishing 9-3 with a 1.81 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and 103 strikeouts across 109.2 innings. Opponents struggled to get anything going against him all year, as he kept runners off base and worked deep into games with impressive efficiency.
For a pitcher who once carried a reputation as streaky, Rogers’ 2025 performance was anything but. He’s been a model of consistency and a huge reason his team stayed competitive down the stretch. In MLB The Show 25, that type of output feels well above a Gold-level pitcher — a sub-2 ERA and sub-1 WHIP is elite territory. If SDS wants to recognize one of the league’s true breakout arms, Rogers deserves his Diamond bump.
