In celebration of the sluggers of yesteryear, MLB The Show 25 has decided to release a new program called Home Run Derby X. For those who are unaware, Home Run Derby X is a tour that MLB sponsors each year, which features former MLB players participating in a home run derby for global audiences. And now, it’s a series of cards in The Show.
As one might expect, the Home Run Derby X is broken down into three categories: A program, a pack, and a collection. And here’s everything you need to be each.
Home Run Derby X Program
First up, let’s talk about the cards you can get for free in the Home Run Derby X program. In total, six players can be earned from the program. As the penultimate reward, players will get a Home Run Derby X pack as well.
Here are the seven players featured in the Home Run Derby X program. All are 99-rated Diamonds:
- Eric Hosmer (1B) – Kansas City Royals
- Michael Cuddyer (LF) – New York Mets
- Alex Gordon (LF) – Kansas City Royals
- Adam Wainwright (DH) – St. Louis Cardinals
- Mike Moustakas (3B) – Kansas City Royals
- Daniel Murphy (2B) – New York Mets
Adam Wainwright, a pitcher, being featured here is pretty fun. Other than that, Royals fans are gonna love this drop.
Home Run Derby X Pack Cards
As has been customary this year, MLB The Show 25 will also be dropping a themed pack to go along with its latest program. In total, there are 10 players in the pack, separated into different tiers. All cards are 99-rated.
Base Tier
- Jeff Francoeur (RF) – Atlanta Braves
- Jonny Gomes (LF) – Boston Red Sox
- Josh Reddick (RF) – Houston Astros
- Rick Ankiel (CF) – St. Louis Cardinals
- Ryan Klesko (LF) – Atlanta Braves
Mid Tier
- Ryan Zimmerman (3B) – Washington Nationals
- Adrian Gonzalez (1B) – Los Angeles Dodgers
- Hunter Pence (RF) – Houston Astros
Rare Tier

Home Run Derby X Collection
Finally, we have the Home Run Derby X collection. However, unlike others, there are only two cards that can get.
- Collect 8: Lorenzo Cain (CF) – Kansas City Royals
- Collect 17: Ben Zobrist (2B) – Chicago Cubs
Collecting Cain should be easy, as it will only require you to complete the program and get two pack cards, one of which will be given to you as part of the program. To get Zobrist, however, you’ll need to finish the program and have all 10 packs cards, making it pretty expensive.
