TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — A new era of baseball training has dawned with the introduction of cutting-edge pitching machines that replicate the pitches of major league pitchers. The Trajekt Arc pitching machine, approved by Major League Baseball for in-game use in batting cages, utilizes high-tech data to mimic the movement and break of pitches thrown by professional pitchers. This innovative technology allows hitters to face simulated offerings from any pitcher they choose, enhancing their training experience.

These advanced pitching machines represent a significant evolution from the traditional Iron Mike pitching machines of the past. Pioneered by Paul Giovagnoli in the 1950s, the Iron Mike machines were a staple in baseball training facilities for decades.
