Thursdays are a light day in Major League Baseball, and Fantasy Baseball has fewer options as a result. That’s also true for DFS baseball, with only two games in the evening slate. The Dodgers take on the Athletics, and the Rangers face off with the Astros. We’ve got the recommended lineups for both DraftKings and FanDuel.
Note: Lineups obviously aren’t finalized yet, so don’t hold it against us if one of these selections doesn’t play. We all play DFS for fun, anyway…right?
DFS Players To Watch On Thursday
Jacob deGrom, SP, Rangers
Jacob deGrom got off to a rough start in 2025, but he’s won his past three starts. Now 3-1 on the season, he gets a decent matchup in an Astros team that’s missing Yordan Alvarez and only has one regular starter hitting north of .300. DeGrom’s velocity is down this year, but it doesn’t seem to be impacting his results in the past few weeks.
Dalton Rushing, C, Dodgers
Rushing got the call-up after the Dodgers designated Austin Barnes for assignment. At just $2000 in DraftKings contests, he’s an inexpensive option with high upside. You can also put him in your catcher slot, even though he’ll likely play a lot of games in the outfield for Los Angeles.
Josh Jung, 3B, Rangers
Jung has been hot this week, and it’s always important to ride trends in daily fantasy. He’s hitting .360 with 4 HR and 7 RBI in the past seven days. With those numbers, Josh Jung is an absolute steal at just $3400 in DraftKings leagues. Hunter Brown is having a tremendous season for the Astros, but I’ll take the upside of a red-hot player at low cost against him.
Nick Kurtz, Athletics, $3000
Nick Kurtz is another player on a hot streak that you can get for pretty cheap in contests today. He’s hitting .333 in the past week. Two of his five hits are extra-base hits, so there’s upside there too. The downside? He usually hits low in the Athletics lineup, and he’s facing the Dodgers’ Ben Casparius, owner of a 4-0 record. Kurtz has never faced Casparius in the majors, so it’s hard to predict performance.
