MK Dons' Harry Darling undergoes Swansea City medical ahead of proposed move

Harry Darling has undergone a medical at Swansea City this afternoon ahead of a proposed move to south Wales.

WalesOnline understands the MK Dons defender - a long-term target of head coach Russell Martin - completed the procedure and a reunion with his former boss is now edging closer.

Martin has courted Darling for some time; the pair worked together during their time in Milton Keynes and the 22-year-old is seen as a key part of the manager's vision going forward. Swansea had tried to sign the centre-back in January but a deal could not be struck. It looks like now, however, that Martin has got his man.

MK announced on Friday the signing of Jack Tucker from Gillingham - another player who was linked with Swansea - and he now looks set to be Darling's replacement with the League One outfit.

Should Swansea complete a move for Darling they will have headed off stiff competition for the central defender, with Chelsea and Sheffield United said to have been tracking him at one stage.

He would become Swansea's third signing of the window; defenders Nathan Wood and Wasiri Williams penned deals in SA1 last week, with the latter expected to initially join up with the under-23s.

Defender Joel Latibeaudiere is the subject of interest from Burnley, with the Clarets lining up a £500,000 offer for the former Manchester City player.
