Port Stephens SES has assisted Police in locating a missing man at Grahamstown dam overnight, after the alert was raised just before 8pm Monday.
A spokesperson for the SES said 11 operators and several flood boats were tasked to the search after it was reported that the man was kayaking with two other friends when he went missing.
SES crews assisted with a search of the banks of the dam, while Police aircraft searched from the air eventually locating the man on PolAir thermal imaging cameras and guiding ground crews to the man's location.
Paramedics from the NSW Ambulance assessed the man, aged in his 20s and said to be on the autism spectrum, at the scene but no further treatment was required.
