Missing Glasgow pensioner Aileen McInnes sparks police search

The family of a missing pensioner are growing increasingly concerned as police appeal for information on her whereabouts.

Aileen McInnes was last seen leaving her home in Corkerhill at around 7.30am this morning (Friday).

The 78-year-old is known to frequent the Corkerhill area and the shops along Paisley Road West and Silverburn shopping centre.

She is described as white around 5ft 5ins in height and of medium build with long, brown hair.

Police say it's unusual for Aileen to be away from her home for this long.

A police statement issued this evening advised: "Officers are appealing for the assistance of the public in tracing a 78-year-old woman missing from her home in Corkerhill.

"Aileen McInnes is believed to have left her home around 7.30am on Friday, 17, December.

"She is described as white around 5ft 5ins in height and of medium build with long, brown hair.

"Aileen is known to frequent the Corkerhill area, the shops along Paisley Road West and Silverburn Shopping Centre in Pollok.

"It is unusual for Aileen to be away from her home address for so long and her family are very concerned for her wellbeing and safety. Anyone who has seen her or who has any information regarding her whereabouts is asked to contact officers through 1328 of 17 December."
