'Missing' Glasgow love rat conman seen returning to city on London flight

A conman from Glasgow has been spotted returning to the city on a London flight two weeks after police issued a missing persons appeal.

Officers are looking to trace 51-year-old David McGinn, from Cardonald, who was last spotted at Central Station on January 15.

However, the man was later unmasked as David Anthony Kean, a serial love rat who has been conning women for more than 30 years. The con artists, who has previous convictions for theft and dishonesty, has left a trail of heartbreak across the UK after luring his victims in over dating websites before stealing from them, reports Daily Record.

Kean was seen on a flight from London Heathrow to Glasgow on January 30. The source, who wishes to remain anonymous, was aboard the flight alongside the 'missing' man.

The source is a relative of one of the conman's former victims, Helen, who he left penniless and pregnant after he ran off with her bank card in March 2012.

Helen said: “My relative knew it was definitely him as they met several times during our relationship. He had been working away so it wasn’t till he got home and mentioned that he was on the same flight that he was told that Kean had been reported missing.”

Kean is know to adopt an Irish and Yorkshire accent and has used the aliases David Donald, David Ross, David Kayne, David Marshall, David Jamieson, David Cochrane and David Cunningham.

The 51-year-old has been scamming women since 1992.

Kean admitted admitted five charges of theft and dishonesty between 2009 and 2012 in September of 2015 and was jailed for two years.

He stole £1500 from a mum-of-three in April 2017 and nabbed jewellery from a woman in Leicestershire including a diamond ring worth £5000 in December of 2018 before fleeing.

Kean has several tattoos, including “Daddy’s Little Angel” on his left arm and “Daddy’s Little Princess” on the right.

Sergeant Iain McGillivray, of Govan Police Office, said: “Even if what you know seems trivial, please get in touch as every piece of information could help us find out where he is.”
