A six-year-old girl who was missing from home was dramatically found in a dark field by a police helicopter in the early hours of the morning.
The child was located by crews using their infra-red camera system.
She was asleep half a mine from her home - believed to between Chulmleigh and Umberleigh, Devon - after being reported missing by her frantic parents.
The National Police Air Service South West was dispatched to help search for the unnamed girl after they received the distressing call.
She was eventually found in the pitch dark field thanks to the helicopter's hi-tech system, DevonLive reports.
The child was returned safe as a result of the massive team effort from the police control room, the police officers on the ground and the officers in the air, they got the child home safely to her terrified parents.

NPAS South West have released a video of the moment that the child was rescued which shows how the infra-red camera system located her in pitch black in the field.
A NPAS spokesman said her "terrified" parents were elated to be reunited with her.

“Missing from a farm in a rural setting at night, she was located in the pitch dark by our helicopter crew using their infra-red camera system. She was found asleep in a field, over a half a mile away from her home.
“The National Police Air Service operates from a network of 14 bases across England & Wales to support police officers on the ground and help keep our communities safe.
“In this instance, a massive team effort from the police control room, the police officers on the ground and the officers in the air to get this child home safely to her terrified parents.”
