Edinburgh man who vanished from home found safe and well

Police have found an Edinburgh man who was reported missing just weeks after suffering a major stroke.

David Wheeler went missing from the Little France area of the capital at around 11am on Wednesday.

The 64-year-old was spotted walking towards West Granton Road from Crew Road North before his disappearance.

David suffered a stroke in January which has had a significant impact on his speech and his ability to do everyday tasks.

Police have now traced David safe and well.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We can confirm that David Wheeler 64, who had been reported missing from Edinburgh has been traced safe and well.

"Thank you to everyone who shared our appeals and assisted in our enquiries."
