Missing Brit tourist Aslan King found dead in creek after running into Australia bushland

Missing British tourist Aslan King has been found dead in a creek in Australia - three days after he disappeared from a campsite.

The 25-year-old was camping with his friends in Princetown, Victoria, when he vanished.

Mr King, from Brighton, suffered a seizure and ran into bushland at around 2am on Saturday after he banged his head while drunk.

His body has now been found around a kilometre away from where he was last seen.

Victoria Police said: "Police have located the body of a man following the search for missing tourist Aslan King in the Princetown area.

"Officers are yet to formally identify the body; however, it is believed to be Aslan King who was last seen at a camping ground on Old Coach Road about 2am on 23 November.

"The body was located about 10.15am this morning in a creek just over a kilometre from the camping ground where Aslan was last seen.

"Investigators will prepare a report for the coroner."

Victoria Police used a helicopter, horses, motorcycles and sniffer dogs in the search.

Local media also showed water-borne police officers checking along the coastline in rubber dinghies.

Police concentrated on a radius of 300 metres around the campsite, but said the search was difficult because of the thick vegetation, rocky clifftops and deep water coastal waters in the region.

Mr King is believed to have hit his head on the ground at the campsite before getting up quickly and rushing into thick bushland.

The 25-year-old, an illustrator, arrived in Australia two weeks ago and was camping with four friends when he vanished.

They previously appealed for people to help find their friend and warned that he may be 'very confused'.
