Miss Bristol Kobi-Jean Cole will not appear on ITV's Love Island

Miss Bristol - who also enjoys the prestigious title of Miss Great Britain -  Kobi-Jean Cole will not star on the next Love Island.

Rumours circulated last week that the 23-year-old pageant queen could appear in ITV's new series, starting next month.

But officials posted on her Instagram site this evening (May 23) to confirm the Kingswood woman would not be flying out to Majorca for the dating show.

They did admit discussions with producers took place, but out of respect for her renowned title they decided it wouldn't be appropriate.

A spokesperson said: "OK everyone we have read and heard the rumours along with the rest of you, but we can confirm that Miss Great Britain is NOT in fact heading into to the Love Island Villa this year.

There were some discussions regarding inclusion in this series between Kobi and the producers of Love Island during their casting process, but it was decided that out of respect for her title and the Miss Great Britain brand she would not be taking part."

But there was news about Kobi's next movements.

The post went on to say: "In a recent video with her personal trainer and our good friend Matt Fiddes, Kobi was seen working hard for something very exciting.

"Well we are excited to say that today is the day that Kobi flies out for the international final of Miss Tourism World in Croatia.

"Kobi will be representing Great Britain competing for the prestigious title in Zagreb."

Love Island kicks off on June 3 on ITV.
