Minor girl's rape: Four men, victim's elder sister booked in Haryana's Yamunanagar

YAMUNANAGAR: An 11-year-old girl was allegedly raped by four persons in Haryana's Yamunanagar district. The police have registered a case and also booked the survivor girl's elder sister and brother-in-law, for their alleged involvement in the crime.

On Wednesday, the girl's mother lodged a complaint against her daughter, son-in-law, two identified and an unknown person, who have been booked under Section 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc. with intent to commit an offence), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 6 (punishment for aggravated penetrative sexual assault) of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at Jathlana police station.

In her complaint, the woman stated that her elder daughter had solemnized marriage against the family will with a person in Yamunanagar district.

"My elder daughter took her younger sisters with three men in their car and on the way, my 11-year-old daughter was given some sedated drink and the three men raped her. They threatened my daughter that if she disclosed the incident to anybody, they would kill her. On July 15, 2023, my elder daughter along with three men dropped both my daughters outside our home and left. In the evening, when I returned home, my daughter (11) complained of stomach pain. When I asked her, she disclosed the entire ordeal that she was raped by four men, who were with her elder sister and her husband", further added the woman.

Jathlana SHO inspector (SI) Sandeep said, "We have registered a case and started the investigation. The medical examination of the girl has been conducted and her statement under Section 164 of the CrPC is also recorded. The accused would be arrested soon."

To a query, SHO Sandeep said, "The age of accused persons would be ascertained after their arrests."

(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
