Miltiadis Marinakis makes 'amazing' comment after Nottingham Forest beat Derby County

Miltiadis Marinakis took to social media to send Nottingham Forest supporters a motivational message after the Reds' latest victory.

Steve Cooper's side are within three points of the Championship play-off spots after an excellent 2-1 win over Derby County at the City Ground.

Lewis Grabban gave the hosts the lead early in the second-half before Brennan Johnson doubled the Reds' advantage later on.

Tom Lawrence's penalty just before full-time set-up a nervy finish on the banks of the Trent, but Steve Cooper's side held on to make it ten games without defeat against Derby County.

Miltiadis, son of Forest owner Evangelos, shared a video of the Reds fans belting out 'Mull of Kintyre' before kick-off on his Twitter account captioned with the words: "What an amazing win. Proud of everyone at the club. Let’s keep going!"

The Forest official has enjoyed supporting the Reds over the last few months, regularly sharing pictures and videos on his Twitter account as he follows Cooper's side at home and on the road.

The Reds are now just three points adrift of the play-offs and are enjoying a surge up the table with ten Championship wins from the 19 matches since Cooper took the reins on Trentside.

Meanwhile, Marinakis' father Evangelos will be looking to back Cooper as the head coach eyes more January additions.

“I hope so, but we’ll see," Cooper said, when asked if any transfer business could soon be in the pipeline.

“There are no guarantees on anything. We’ll wait and see.

“If it is, great. If not, as I always say, I’ll only ever focus on and talk about the players that I’m working with every single day. That will always be where my allegiance lies."
