Mikel Arteta's future, Allegri interest, Edu decision, dressing room problems - Arsenal Q&A live

Good evening and welcome to our latest Arsenal Q&A with football.london chief Arsenal reporter Chris Wheatley.

Arsenal have lost four of their last five Premier League matches and sit in 15th place following their worst start to a season.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta dismissed talk of a relegation battle in his pre-match press conference today, describing the run as "a blip".

Arteta's side face Southampton on Wednesday evening as they look to avoid losing five consecutive home games for the first time in their history.

"We are not winning football matches and I have to put my chest there and you have to hit me," said Arteta in his pre-match press conference.

Mikel Arteta: It's impossible to have 31 happy players

"You have the right to hit me because I'm not winning. So what else can I do? Put my head down, work harder and try to do things better and improve. That's how we have to approach things, in my opinion.

"It's natural. I accept the criticism and it's part of the job. You can explain whatever you want but, at the end of the day, you have to win football matches and this club is too big to accept this many losses in the last weeks.

"So my chest is here - hit me, guys."

football.london understands that Arteta has the full backing from Arsenal owners KSE (Kroenke Sports Entertainment) and the long-term plan is to create a 'cultural overhaul' which will see a number of players leave the club over the next few months.

Our exclusive earlier in the week revealed that Arteta has had to contend with difficulties behind-closed-doors which has left some players unhappy at the club.

"My feeling is yes but this is a question for them obviously," said Arteta when asked if the players are 100 per cent behind him.

"Again, when I see the reaction and the way they try there's not one bit that worries me that they're not trying their best, that's for sure.

"I’ve said it many times, when you have the squad that we have at the moment for many circumstances, it’s impossible to have 31 happy players in the camp."
