Mikel Arteta has had his say on Arsenal's transfer plans this month.
The Gunners have been linked with a number of centre-forwards in recent weeks considering Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's future is in doubt and football.london understands that the club are open to offers for the former club captain.
To further complicate things both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are into the final six months of their contracts at the Emirates Stadium, meaning they could leave on a free transfer at the end of the current campaign.
According to The Athletic, the north Londoners are pushing for Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic this month and are currently 'best placed' of the Serbian's suitors.
Now, Arteta has opened up on his transfer plans for the next few weeks, admitting that he wants to bolster his squad if a deal is right.
"I think with the amount of things and the way we want to evolve the squad we have to maximise every window in every way," Arteta said when asked if Vlahovic was the kind of player he would be looking at this month.
"We are already, Edu and his team are working very hard because we know exactly what we need to do. Whether we can accomplish that in January or the summer is a different question related to other stuff. But we are there."
When asked if Arsenal could try and make a big signing in the winter window, he added: "Again if it's the right player and we can afford it and we can do what we want to do, we will discuss and make the best possible decision. We are open."
