Mikel Arteta agrees with Alexandre Lacazette's criticism of his Arsenal team-mates

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is in full agreement with Alexandre Lacazette's criticism of his team-mates following Saturday's 1-1 draw with Sheffield United.

The Gunners opened the scoring through Gabriel Martinelli on the stroke of half time, but threw away two valuable points after conceding seven minutes before the end.

Arsenal have made a habit of failing to see out games this season, and have squandered leads against the likes of Crystal Palace, Wolves and Watford.

Gunners striker Lacazette has now called on his Arsenal team-mates to improve - something new boss Arteta agrees needs to happen.

"Yes [I agree]," said Arteta, when asked to respond to Lacazette's comments.

"It's part of the game management and there were things we could have done to control the game better."

Arsenal have been linked with a handful of players this month, despite not having huge funds to work with like their top six rivals.

Lacazette doesn't believe the Gunners necessarily need to strengthen their ranks.

Instead, he's suggested the squad needs to become "nastier" in order to see out results and start climbing the Premier League table.

Lacazette told French outlet RMC Sport: "They were not very dangerous but this match summarises how we have been this season.

"We are winning the match but don't get it over the line. We are quite naive at the moment.

"We need to be nastier and more consistent in the 90th to 93rd minutes of matches. Especially when we can do better than this. We have the players required. It is a shame."
