Mikel Arteta addresses Bukayo Saka's Arsenal future as no William Saliba decision made yet

Mikel Arteta is confident that Bukayo Saka will sign a new contract with Arsenal 'very shortly' after months of speculation around the players' future.

The 18-year-old's current deal - which was signed in September 2018 - expires in June 2021, which has made him a potential target for top English and European clubs alike.

On June 15, the Gunners' head coach admitted that Saka's contract was still a priority and considering he is the player leading the charge for the current crop of youngsters, Arteta underlined the importance of securing his future.

Edu explains Luiz extension

Arsenal technical director Edu has explained the club's decision to complete four new deals.

David Luiz has penned a new contract at the Emirates Stadium, while Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares have agreed to sign permanent deals.

While  loanee Dani Ceballos has agreed to stick around until the end of the season despite his loan deal originally expiring at the end of this month.

Luiz, in particular, has come under intense criticism since his disastrous display against Manchester City in the Gunners' first game back with many believing he would not be offered a new deal.

But Mikel Arteta does indeed want the Brazilian to be part of his rebuild at the Emirates Stadium and Edu has now explained the decision.

No Saliba decision yet

Arsenal youngster William Saliba may not be allowed to play in the Coupe de France final for St Etienne.

The 19-year-old defender has reached the final with his loan club but he may not be able to play against PSG with his loan deal set to expire on June 30.

Talks are ongoing between the French side and Arsenal but former Leicester and current Saint-Etienne boss Claude Puel has revealed the clubs are yet to reach an agreement. Read the full story here.
