Mike Tindall and Peter Phillips wear Peaky Blinders hats as they join Zara at Cheltenham

Zara and Mike Tindall were among those in the crowd flocking to the 2022 Cheltenham Festival, which kicks off today.

The Queen's granddaughter and her husband posed for the cameras as they arrived at the racecourse.

Zara looked stylish in a beautiful deep purple coat, which she paired with an intricate matching hat. She completed her look with a pair of ankle-skimming trousers and black heels.

Meanwhile, Mike opted for a tweed jacket and also wore Peaky Blinders-style hat.

They were also joined by Zara's brother Peter Phillips - the Queen's oldest grandchild - who joined brother-in-law Mike in wearing the same style hat.

However, Peter seemed to be without his new partner Lindsay Wallace, who reportedly recently had a warm meeting with the Queen.

It's been over two years since Peter announced he and ex-wife Autumn Phillips were separating and their divorce was finalised last June.

Zara, who is herself a celebrated equestrian, and former rugby player Mike are regulars at Cheltenham Festival.

Other members of the Royal Family including the Queen and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have also attended in previous years - but it's unclear if any others will visit this week.

This year's festival is the first time in two years that punters have been allowed in the racecourse after last year's event was held behind closed doors due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 2020 festival was one of the last large-scale events to go ahead before the country was plunged into lockdown days later.

Meanwhile, Zara's last trip to Cheltenham racecourse was in January when she attended the Festival Day trials.

Zara brought along oldest daughter Mia and was spotted chatting to Chanelle McCoy, the wife of former 20-times champion jockey Sir AP McCoy.

Princess Anne's daughter was also pictured hugging Sam Twiston-Davies, one of the winning jockeys on the card that day.
