Mike Muscala out, Chandler in, Lakers call up two-way players vs. Rockets

The Los Angeles Lakers are still dealing with some health problems and needed to call in some reinforcements as they begin their playoff push Thursday night against James Harden and the Houston Rockets.

Newly acquired center Mike Muscala was downgraded from questionable to out for tonight’s game with an ankle injury, while fellow center Tyson Chandler is available to play, according to Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times.

As a result of Muscala’s injury, the continued rehabilitation of Lonzo Ball and the Lakers open roster spot, the team has called up their two-way players, Jonathan Williams and Alex Caruso, from the South Bay Lakers.

Williams played some considerable minutes for the Lakers earlier in the season before they signed Chandler. As for Caruso, he’s played in only five games this season and has played a total of 20 minutes in those games.

The Lakers host the Rockets on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in a TNT-televised affair.
