Mike McDaniel provides updates on a slew of injured Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins have had some tough injury luck in recent weeks, and that didn’t stop during their Week 14 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Monday night at Hard Rock Stadium.

Mike McDaniel’s team lost a number of key players to injuries at different points in the contest, and while some made their way back onto the field, others were unable to return.

On Tuesday, McDaniel spoke to the media and provided many updates on his injured players.

Here’s what he had to say:

“Day-to-day, for Tyreek… I’m optimistic about Tyreek, in general. I know if there’s a will, there’s a way. It’s a little early to be that confident either way. That was a painful ankle (injury) that he took the time to warm up, work and get to a point where he could feel like he could provide what we needed him to provide. He’s given me only reason to be confident in his ability. But, until he flat-out tells me that there’s no doubt that he’s going to play, you always have to plan for everything.”

LT Terron Armstead

“Armstead (playing this week) is more conceivable. We’ll be day-to-day with him. It’s part of just knowing what type of game that’s going to be. The games ahead, specifically one with a short week, I think it made it more difficult to play Armstead last night.”

RG Robert Hunt

“I think Rob is proving to be a little more week-to-week. I would be very pleasantly surprised if Rob was available for the Jets. But, again, I’m not going to say that he can’t, but that would be more of a pleasant surprise.”

S DeShon Elliott

“DeShon Elliott cleared the UNC’s assessment during the game. However, later on in the game, in communication with our training staff, he reported some verbal symptoms. So, he’s now in the concussion protocol. Once he verbalized some symptoms, we just immediately took him out.”

OL Liam Eichenberg

“Liam Eichenberg came out of the game, he got bumped and bruised along the journey of the game. He fought threw it really well. I was impressed with his toughness, but just football bumps and bruises is the best way to put it.”

S Brandon Jones

“Brandon Jones, he had some stitches on an open wound, but he should be good.”
