Miguel Almiron reveals what was going through his mind as he celebrated his first NUFC goal

Miguel Almiron has spoken of his relief after finally scoring his first goal for Newcastle United.

The playmaker grabbed the winner against Crystal Palace with just seven minutes to go with the celebrations so wild he received a yellow card for removing his shirt.

After the game Almiron said: "I'm very happy because it was a way to help the team.

"We need to keep going the same way.

"When I scored I thought about my family, I was happy.

"They have supported him through good and bad times."

The moment saw all of his team-mates join in the celebrations and Steve Bruce admitted he'd almost injured himself running from the dugout.

He told NUFC TV: "It was lovely. I think it was very important for the team and for the supporters.

"We are dealing with every challenge we've got.

"Especially at home and in a good way.

"It was important for the team to help us rise up the table and also for the team spirit."
