Middlesbrough have not given up hope of Britt Assombalonga being fit to face his former club Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.
Assombalonga’s hopes of a City Ground reunion looked to be dashed on Saturday after he limped out of the vital win over Charlton at the Riverside Stadium, before leaving on crutches having been hurt in a challenge from Darren Pratley.
Boss Jonathan Woodgate, though, says the £15m striker is having a scan with the results set to be revealed later on Monday evening.
Woodgate, who eased the growing pressure on his shoulder after a tough start to life at Boro chief, is facing an anxious wait on those results in the hope that the ex-Forest star can still take his place in the traveling party.

“Britt is in a scan now so I'll find out later what's wrong with him," Woodgate said at his pre-match media duties.
"Let's see how he is. He might be fit for Tuesday, let's see."
There was more positive news on the availability of Paddy McNair and Marvin Johnson after the pair completed suspensions, though winger Lewis Wing still remains a doubt.
“Paddy McNair will be back in contention.
“Lewis Wing trained today and let’s see how he is for tomorrow," added Woodgate.
