The first half of MSU vs. Northwestern was tough, to say the least. Things turned around for the Spartans in the second half. The offense made huge plays while the defense kept the Wildcats limited to just one touchdown. Here are some highlights below:
Elijah Collins Jukes Into First Down
Elijah Collins is awesome. In the third quarter, Lewerke salvaged a lost play with no receivers open. He threw the ball over to Collins. From there, Elijah juked past one defender and then broke a tackle for a first down. Watch below:
Brian Lewerke Connects With Matt Seybert Twice
Slowly but surely, Lewerke improved during the course of this game. In the fourth quarter, Lewerke hit TE Matt Seybert for a second touchdown pass. Seybert managed to stretch over Wildcat defenders for a touchdown that sealed the game:
Darrell Stewart Is A Brick Wall
Darrell Stewart was not as loud in this game compared to previous outings, however, he had an absolutely vicious truck on a defender. Watch him flatten a Wildcats defender below:
Clutch Interceptions By MSU Defense
It is not common for a DE to snag an interception but that did not stop Drew Beesley. A deflection ended up in the hands of Beasley as he fell to the ground. This was the second interception for MSU overall against Northwestern. Later in the four quarter, LB Joe Bachie caught a throwaway pass. Probably the easiest interception of his career but it sealed the game for MSU!
