Michigan State Running Back Anthony Williams Jr. is now healthy, had knee injury

We have not seen much of Michigan State freshman running back Anthony Williams Jr. this year. He has only carried the ball fifteen times this season and has yet to receive a pass. In his weekly radio show, head coach Mark Dantonio said that he had been dealing with a knee injury these last few weeks which accounts for his limited play, but that he is healthy now.

Early in the season, it was disclosed that he was dealing with pink eye which caused him to miss the first two weeks of the season. None of that was too out of the ordinary.

By the time he got back Eli Collins had emerged as the top dog in the backfield, so I personally didn’t think too much about why Anthony Williams Jr. wasn’t seeing much of the field, but it’s certainly interesting to hear that he was dealing with an injury. The former three-star recruit definitely has talent and it sounds like we haven’t really seen him at full strength yet.
