Michigan State has apparently moved into the drivers seat to land one of the state’s top 2022 prospects.
Multiple recruiting analysts are now projecting four-star athlete Dillon Tatum to end up at Michigan State. Tatum — who hails from West Bloomfield, Mich. — was previously projected to end up at in-state rival Michigan.
Nine different recruiting experts for 247Sports have updated their crystal ball prediction for Tatum this week to Michigan State. That includes Justin Thind, who offered more context on the recruiting battle between the Spartans and Wolverines in a tweet below:
NEW: We just locked in Crystal Ball picks for 4⭐️ DB Dillon Tatum to choose Michigan State.
Michigan hired Tatum's former HS head coach in Jan, giving them a lead for several months. It currently seems like MSU has regained the lead.@AllenTrieu (VIP): https://t.co/hXm7xvj1Tr pic.twitter.com/yfB1KcYj8k

Tatum is ranked as the No. 267 overall prospect and No. 5 player from Michigan in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2022 class. He’s also listed as as the No. 14 athlete.
Things can always change, but keep an eye on this recruitment and a potential commitment for the Spartans soon.
