Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio shuts down talk of Jim Harbaugh, pregame talk

EAST LANSING, Mich. _ Mark Dantonio chose to end the war of words with Michigan and his counterpart Jim Harbaugh without mentioning either.

Michigan State football's coach during his weekly news conference on Tuesday refused to take questions about Harbaugh's comments Monday in which the Wolverines' coach reiterated his stance on Saturday's pregame confrontation at Spartan Stadium.

Dantonio did not mention Harbaugh or Michigan by name once during his nearly 20-minute news conference.

"First of all, I might as well get things out of the way here in regards to recent comments and et cetera," Dantonio said to open his news conference. "Every week, I sort of get a goal card I sit down and I make a goal card every week. And on that goal card, I try to prioritize what's important in my life. So when I look at it, I go boom, boom, boom, right down the list.

"The first thing I'm gonna say about this is I'm not gonna have any more comments about the situation. I made my comments, and I'm gonna let God take care of my battles. That's No. 1. No. 2, I'm gonna take care of my family and No. 3, I'm gonna take care of this football team and represent it with class. No. 4, I'm gonna worry about Purdue and the X's and O's and the personnel involved in that. And that's it.

"So I'll take no other questions about that, and we'll get on with Purdue. Otherwise, this will be the shortest conference and you guys all drove up here for nothing. So I'll take questions on Purdue."
