Michigan State alum Dan Gilbert hospitalized with stroke symptoms

Michigan State alumnus and Detroit businessman Dan Gilbert was hospitalized with stroke symptoms Sunday according to the Detroit News.

The Quicken Loans founder was admitted to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital and is recovering comfortable according to a Quicken Loans statement given to the News.

Gilbert, the majority owner of the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers, graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State in 1983. He has since gone on to great success through Quicken Loans and Rock Ventures, accruing an estimated $7.2 billion in wealth. In 2016 he and his wife Jennifer made a $15 million donation to Michigan State that helped fund renovations in the Breslin Center and other scholar programs within the university and its connection to the city of Detroit.
