Thank you to Fox College Football for pointing out something that everyone should already know: Michigan is the best college football state in the country.
The ranking they released this week was based on all-time win percentage and only counted Power-5 teams around the country. Michigan State and Michigan combine for a 71% win percentage.
This just confirms something else that everyone should already know: MSU vs. U of M is the best in-state rivalry in college football. It’s really not even debatable. The State of Michigan has fielded the best combination of power-5 football teams ever.
Also making the list were:
- #2 Alabama: Alabama, Auburn – 66% win percentage
- #3 Florida: Florida, Miami, Florida State – 63% win percentage
- #4 Pennsylvania: Penn State, Pitt – 62% win percentage
- #5 Georgia: Georgia, Georgia Tech – 60% win percentage
