Michelle Keegan supports Helen Flanagan as she responds to being called 'unclassy' over plunging outfit

Helen Flanagan has been flooded with support from her fans and celeb pals, including Michelle Keegan, after speaking out on the 'vile' response to one of her recent Instagram posts. The former Coronation Street star was defended by fans last week when she appeared on the platform in a plunging outfit.

The 32-year-old could be seen in the Instagram reel, posted ahead of Valentine's Day on Tuesday (February 14), slipping into a figure-hugging silk skirt while modelling for the camera. She then swapped her black sports bra for a matching red risqué corset that featured a plunging neckline.

Helen, from Bury, accessorised with a black handbag and wore her blonde locks slicked back into a low bun. She then described the outfit as her "fave Valentine's outfit" in a caption that accompanied her recent post.

Followers of the mum-of-three, who is famed for playing Rosie Webster in ITV's Coronation Street, jumped to her defence after seeing the flack Helen was getting over her post as some weren't impressed by the extravagant display. It comes after she showed off the results of her recent 'confidence-boosting' boob job.

But after taking some time to deal with the backlash, Helen has spoken out. The former soap star took to Instagram with a quote which read: "Empowered women Empower women," as well as sharing a still from her video which showed her looking sensational in her all-red outfit with some of the negative reactions attached.

"So I shared a fashion reel a few days ago and I was a bit taken back from the not so nice comments I got on the post," she began to type. "I was more shocked that the majority of them were from women. I’m a girls girl and very much for other women and I always have another womens back. I don’t believe women should comment negatively about other women.

"I enjoy seeing women feeling glamorous and feeling empowered and dressing how they want to dress. Sometimes I see outfits that I wouldn’t wear as maybe they are too revealing for me but I just think good on the girl that has the confidence to wear what she wants to wear. I had some comments from other women about being 'tacky' or 'unclassy' well to me being a woman and speaking so badly of another womens appearance is 'tacky and unclassy'."

Helen shared some of the comments she received (Helen Flanagan Instagram)

She went on to share how some of the comments also mentioned her daughters, Matilda and Delilah, who she shares with footballer Scott Sinclair as well as son, Charlie. "I never speak badly about how another women looks as it’s just vile. I had comments about not being a good role model to my daughters.

"I will bring up my daughters to be kind, beautiful women that support other women with good morals and girl code. Or you can just scroll past…. On social media you don’t like something you don’t have to comment. I love my account I feel like I really connect with other women and mothers and yeah basically I support other women, I don’t drag them down. As women we need each other."

She then rounded off her post by sharing her thanks to fellow mum and former Made in Chelsea star Ashely James who helped support Helen amid the backlash. "Thankyou @ashleylouisejames for helping me with this and listening to my voice notes," Helen added.

And her post was quickly flooded with replies from her celeb pals. Former Corrie star Michelle said: "Well said girl! Unfortunately some people haven’t got a good moral compass. When they say negative comments it says more about them than you. F**k em. Keep doing you darling!" Former Queen of the Castle Giovanna Fletcher replied: "Love love love love love you!!!!! YOU ARE LOVED! F**k the keyboard warriors."

Lucy Fallon, who played Bethany Platt in Corrie, typed: "Oh my girl!!!!!!!! Bunch of freaks of the week. You’re the best and ur looking mighty fine x x x love you x." Helen's on-screen sister Brooke Vincent commented: "I love you darling girl! Xxx." I'm a Celeb and Love Island star Olivia Attwood also added: "Absolute losers . You look amazing!!!!!!"
