Michelle Heaton has opened up to fans about the harsh reality of alcohol and drug use.
The former Liberty X singer showed the effect that addiction, as well as stress, hormones and diet, has on the hair.
Plucky Michelle shared a video of her ravaged tresses on Instagram as she visited the salon for a transformation.

The 41-year-old pop star said 'good riddance' to her former self as she emerged with glossy dark locks.
"It’s funny (not really funny) but still funny, how stress … hormones … alcohol … drugs … diet … fitness all effects the hair!" she wrote.
"See my video at the end. This was filmed only this morning, That’s the harsh reality of what my hair became. And so this is me now."
Fans applauded her bravery in speaking out.
"Love how honest you are …that takes bravery. Keep going and your hair is looking fab," said one.
"Loving the honesty wishing you the very best on your recovery," congratulated another.
"You are beautiful inside and out. Stay strong," another follower told her.
Michelle last month revealed she was days from death after going on a three-year cocaine and booze binge.
And she said she was only saved by an intervention from celebrity pals led by Katie Price.
After admitting to The Sun that she had been drinking as much as bottle of vodka, two bottles of wine and snorting cocaine every day since 2018, Michelle has shared her 'we're here and we're free' medals to mark her milestones without alcohol and drugs.
"Today I am 60 days clean and sober," she wrote to her Instagram followers.
"There was a point where six hours would have been hard to do.
"There was a point where I gave up any hope, attempt, empty promises because I became so sick.
"I admitted 60 days ago I was powerless to alcohol. And it had total control over me."
She added: "One day at a time. One more day than yesterday.
"A moments silence to all those still suffering like I was.
"The first step, the hardest step - to admit it to yourself you need help. Second is asking for it. #yougotthis."
In May she posted a joyous photo of the moment she was reunited with her husband of 11 years, businessman Hugh Hanley, their daughter Faith, nine, and son AJ, seven as she left The Priory.
Michelle, 41, who shot to fame in 2001 as a member of the band Liberty X formed on the talent contest Popstars, has received a raft of support from her friends including Denise Welch who sent her congratulations and Kerry Katona who told her 'you're amazing!!!'
