Michelle Heaton reunited with family after 'life saving' stint in rehab

Michelle Heaton has been reunited with her family after a stint in rehab as the extent of her addiction has been revealed.

Liberty X star Michelle entered The Priory facility at the end of last month, with sources claiming she'd been struggling with lockdown and a number of health issues and had been using alcohol as "a crutch" to get through it.

Her husband Hugh Hanley paid tribute to her, writing: "No one should ever suffer in silence but it takes real strength to speak up and do something about it … @wonderwomanshel you are doing your family proud."

Returning to Instagram on Sunday, Gateshead-born star Michelle firstly posted a photo of her reading book Understanding the Twelve Steps in the sun and captioned it: "33 days sober"

And she then shared a poignant snap of her, Hugo and their two children AJ and Faith as she celebrated being given a "second chance at life."

She wrote: "6 days ago .. on the steps of the@priorygroup

"@hughhanley Faith & AJ you are my world. I’ve been given a second chance at life and I know I’m lucky to have that.

"I’m overwhelmed with all the support and messages I’ve received when I was in rehab and since I’ve been out.

"Thank you to my family, friends, people I’ve met - and not met.

"It really does mean a lot."

Michelle's heartwarming reunion with her family comes as she bravely opened up about how far her addiction escalated, with her telling The Sun she had been drinking two bottles of wine and a bottle of vodka 'virtually every day since 2018.'

Thanking friend Katie Price for the 'life saving' role she played, Michelle told the paper: "I texted Katie while I was in The Priory, 'You saved my life'. Because The Priory did save my life.

"What I was doing was a suicide mission.

"I never actually thought, 'I want to kill myself', but ultimately I was killing myself. I was crying out for help when I couldn't actually ask for help. But when you're an addict, it feels like there's no way out."
