Micheál Glynn said Larne were relieved "to put things right" after being stung by their Irish Cup exit.
The Invermen have had to deal with added pressure following their cup exit to Ballymena United and seeing their lead at the top of the Irish Premiership cut to five points.
But they answered their critics in fine style with a dominant display against Glentoran on Friday night running out 2-0 winners in the end with Glynn opening the scoring at Inver Park.

"It hurt last week going out of the cup in the manner we did.
"We probably didn't do ourselves justice, so there was a lot of hunger and hurt going into Friday night.
"We talked about it on Monday and Tuesday and had a good week's training behind us.
"We had a plan and we brought it all into the game and it worked for us.
"We put on a performance and it was good to send the fans away home happy after last week's disappointment.
"It was good to be able to put things right after the cup exit.
"It's good to go into those last four games off the back of a win, a good performance and a clean sheet.
"We knew it wasn't going to be easy against Glentoran, but the boys dug in deep and got the result."
Glynn's goal was his first for the club since his January move from Glenavon.
"I've had to wait a little while for it, but it was worth the wait," he said.
"It was very important for us to get a win in the first split game, and hopefully going into the remaining games this season it will give the team and myself a lot of confidence.
"I've loved every minute of it since coming here. The lads, management and everyone around the club has made me feel so welcome.
"It was a big change for me coming into a full-time environment from Glenavon, but I've played every game so far and I just want to keep it going."
Victory over Cliftonville at Solitude on Tuesday evening can put Larne on the cusp of a first-ever league title, but Glynn isn't getting carried away just yet.
"We're not going to get too far ahead of ourselves because we know anything can happen," he said.
"It's another game ticked off now and we'll go to Solitude on Tuesday night and look to get the three points again.
"It's going to be a tough game going there, we know the fans they bring and the atmosphere.
"Everyone knows it's a difficult place to go given their results there, but we will go in with a plan and try to come away with the win."
